Floor Polishing Services
Limestone, Marble, Travertine & Terrazzo Floor Cleaning, Polishing & Restoration
Genuine restoration project · Lewes
Our client asked us to restore this beautiful green marble conservatory floor at her property in Lewes, near Brighton and Uckfield in East Sussex. Over time, the marble had become scratched, dull and worn, losing the smooth, highly polished appearance that makes this distinctive natural stone look its best.
The floor required more than a straightforward clean and polish, so we carried out a full marble restoration process to remove the scratches, flatten the surface and bring back the natural depth, colour and shine of the green marble.
Grinding the Marble Floor & Removing Scratches
We began by grinding the green marble floor flat using two grades of specialist resin diamond abrasives.
Diamond grinding allowed us to remove the scratches and surface imperfections while creating a smooth and consistent finish across the conservatory floor. This provided the correct foundation for the finer diamond polishing stages.
Diamond Polishing the Green Marble
Once the grinding stages were complete, we progressively polished the marble using three grades of specialist diamond polishing pads.
Each stage further refined the surface, gradually bringing back the natural clarity, rich green colouring and reflective qualities of the marble.
We then powder polished the floor to achieve a deep, high-gloss finish that really enhanced the natural character of this beautiful green stone.
Finally, the restored marble was professionally sealed to help protect the newly polished surface against staining and everyday contamination.
The transformation was fantastic. The scratched and tired-looking floor was restored to a smooth, bright and highly polished finish, completely refreshing the appearance of the conservatory.
The complete marble floor grinding, polishing and sealing process took one technician one full day to complete, and the client was extremely happy with the finished result.
