Genuine restoration project · Hassocks
This marble floor in Hassocks, near Brighton and Eastbourne in West Sussex, had become extremely dull, dirty and worn after around 12 years of use in a busy family home with pets.
The marble had lost much of its original polished finish and ideally required a full grinding process due to the level of wear. However, with additional restoration work and targeted grinding in the worst areas, we brought the floor back to a beautiful high-gloss finish.
****Deep Cleaning the Marble** and Grout Lines**
We began by thoroughly deep cleaning the marble tiles and grout lines throughout the property, removing years of ingrained dirt and contamination that regular household cleaning could no longer remove.
The restoration covered the kitchen, extension, utility room, cloakroom and rear entrance area.
**Grinding and Diamond Polishing the Marble**
The more heavily worn areas were ground to remove surface damage and create a better foundation for polishing.
We then progressively diamond polished the marble using various grades of specialist diamond abrasives. Additional attention was given to the most heavily worn areas to achieve a consistent polished finish across the floor.
Once polishing was complete, we professionally sealed the marble to help protect the newly restored surface against staining and everyday contamination.
The complete marble floor cleaning, partial grinding, diamond polishing and sealing process took one technician three days to complete.
Given the wear the marble had suffered over 12 years, the transformation was excellent, restoring the dull, tired floor to a clean, bright, impressive high-gloss finish.
