Genuine restoration project · Dorking
About this limestone restoration project
This large residential limestone floor in Dorking, serving homeowners across nearby areas like Reigate and Leatherhead, had become heavily soiled and visually dull. The natural pits and small veins had darkened, the grout lines were black with ingrained dirt, and the whole floor had developed a grey, dingy appearance. The kitchen and its glazed extension needed a thorough professional restoration, not a light surface clean.
A two-person team completed the work over two days. The limestone tiles and grout lines were deep cleaned with a slow-speed rotary machine, followed by careful rinsing to remove loosened debris. A couple of holes were repaired with resin, and the limestone was then finished and sealed with stone soap to help protect the surface and make ongoing maintenance easier.
After restoration, the limestone appeared considerably lighter, cleaner and fresher. Its natural colour was visible again, the grout lines looked renewed, and the restored floor complemented the bright modern kitchen and the surrounding glass extension. The result helped bring the entire space together while retaining the limestone's natural character.
