Floor Polishing Services
Limestone, Marble, Travertine & Terrazzo Floor Cleaning, Polishing & Restoration
Genuine restoration project · Worthing
This client in Worthing, near Shoreham-by-Sea and Littlehampton in West Sussex, asked us to restore the terrazzo floor in their entrance hall. Over time, the terrazzo had become dull and lifeless, with very little shine remaining.
There were also a few areas where the original marble chippings were missing, leaving small holes in the surface.
**Terrazzo Repairs & Deep Cleaning**
Rather than trying to source individual marble chippings to match the original terrazzo, we repaired the damaged areas using carefully selected different-coloured resins to blend with the variation in the existing floor.
We then thoroughly deep cleaned the terrazzo to remove built-up dirt and prepare the surface for restoration.
**Diamond Grinding & Polishing the Terrazzo**
Once clean and repaired, we diamond ground the terrazzo using resin diamonds to refine the surface and improve its overall appearance. We then progressed through finer polishing diamonds to bring back the natural clarity, colour and shine of the terrazzo.
**Sealing the Restored Terrazzo**
On completion, the floor was professionally sealed to help protect the newly restored surface and make future maintenance easier.
The entire project took one technician one day to complete, and the transformation was impressive. The entrance hall looked brighter, cleaner and much more welcoming, with the terrazzo once again showing its natural character and polished finish.
As usual with highly polished stone floors, the photographs don't quite do the finished result justice – the terrazzo looked even better in person.
