Floor Polishing Services
Limestone, Marble, Travertine & Terrazzo Floor Cleaning, Polishing & Restoration
Genuine restoration project · Estbourne
This substantial terrazzo staircase restoration in Eastbourne, near Hailsham and Seaford in East Sussex, was carried out as part of refurbishment works at a solicitor’s building. The project covered three storeys and included the terrazzo stairs, landings and terrazzo wall surfaces.
The terrazzo was heavily soiled, scratched and marked, with construction residue and adhesive deposits left on the surfaces. There were also numerous cracks and holes requiring attention before the terrazzo could be properly restored.
**Deep Cleaning & Terrazzo Repairs**
We began by thoroughly deep cleaning the terrazzo and removing the construction contamination, adhesive deposits and other stubborn residues.
Suitable cracks and holes were then repaired using colour-matched resin, helping the repairs blend naturally with the different colours and aggregates within the existing terrazzo.
**Diamond Honing & Polishing the Terrazzo**
Once cleaned and repaired, we progressively diamond honed the terrazzo to reduce scratches, refine the surface and improve its overall consistency.
We then progressed through the polishing stages to bring out the terrazzo’s natural colour, clarity and decorative marble aggregate before applying a suitable sealer to protect the restored surfaces.
Three-Storey Staircase, Landings & Terrazzo Walls
This was a large and labour-intensive commercial restoration project covering the stairs, landings and terrazzo wall surfaces across three storeys.
The work was completed over approximately two weeks by a team of two to three technicians. As the building remained an active construction site, the restoration had to be carefully planned and completed in stages while maintaining access to the fire escape throughout the project.
The photographs show the terrazzo before, during and after restoration and demonstrate the significant difference between the original heavily soiled and damaged surfaces and the completed finish.
The finished terrazzo was cleaner, brighter and more consistent, with the repairs, honing and polishing bringing the staircase, landings and walls back to life.
