Genuine restoration project · Brighton & Hove
This vinyl floor in a busy community building in central Brighton, East Sussex, had been down for approximately 12 years and had not originally been sealed. The area is used for a wide range of community activities and receives a high level of daily foot traffic.
After years of heavy use, the vinyl had become very dirty and heavily marked, with numerous scratches, stains, scuff marks, spots of glue and other stubborn residue stuck to the surface. Without a protective seal taking the everyday wear, the floor had gradually become tired and difficult to keep looking clean.
A protective seal is particularly important on heavily used vinyl flooring because the sacrificial coating takes much of the everyday wear, scuffs and scratches, helping to protect the vinyl underneath and prolong the useful life of the floor.
**Deep Cleaning & Stripping the Vinyl Floor**
We started by thoroughly deep cleaning the entire floor. A professional vinyl floor stripper was used to remove accumulated cleaning films, grease, dirt and other surface contamination. We also worked on the stubborn stains, glue spots and residue that had built up over the years.
This preparation stage is extremely important before applying a new protective finish. Once stripped, the floor was rinsed several times to ensure all traces of the stripping solution had been removed and the surface was fully neutralised.
The photographs taken during the cleaning process really show the difference between the cleaned and dirty sections of the vinyl floor. With the two areas side by side, you can clearly see just how much ingrained dirt and contamination had accumulated over the years.
**Drying & Applying the Protective Seal**
The vinyl floor was then allowed to dry overnight before sealing. Once completely dry, we applied three coats of hard-wearing floor seal, building up a durable protective finish suitable for this busy community environment.
The new coating brought back the depth of colour in the vinyl and created an attractive sheen while, most importantly, providing the protection this heavily used floor required.
Commercial Vinyl Floor Cleaning & Sealing in Brighton
The transformation was impressive. The floor went from dirty, stained and heavily marked to clean, brighter and professionally protected, making a noticeable difference to the appearance of the whole community space.
We provide professional commercial vinyl floor cleaning, stripping and sealing in Brighton & Hove, as well as surrounding areas of East Sussex and West Sussex, helping maintain and protect vinyl flooring in community buildings, schools, offices and other high-traffic commercial premises.
