Genuine restoration project · Sailsbury
This is one of our favourite limestone restorations. The floor at this property in Salisbury, Wiltshire, had become very grubby over a number of years, with heavy soiling affecting both the limestone tiles and grout lines. The new owners decided to have the floors professionally restored. This was a labour-intensive project because the natural divots and pits in the limestone could not be cleaned effectively by the rotary floor machine alone. In addition to machine cleaning, we manually cleaned the individual tiles and worked into the textured areas to remove embedded dirt. After thoroughly deep cleaning the tiles and grout lines, we lightly diamond skimmed the limestone. The objective was to remove remaining dirt and unevenness while retaining a low-sheen, natural appearance rather than creating a high-gloss polished finish. The restored areas included the kitchen, dining area, pantry and entrance hall, and a suitable stone sealer was applied on completion. Two technicians completed the project over three days. The finished limestone retained its natural character while looking dramatically cleaner and more consistent. Floor Polishing Services provides specialist limestone floor cleaning and restoration throughout Salisbury and surrounding areas.
